What's New?

April 23, 2012

Hi everyone. It's been awhile since my last update and I hope this finds you well and enjoying this early spring weather!

We've had a lot going on and I just haven't had much time to devote to Falling Star since the loss of my sister, Robin, last October. But I'm getting back to it and have finally finished 3 new designs that I've been working on forever! So, I'm pleased to introduce to you my 1st new designs for 2012.

Honor Thy Mother

Honor Thy Mother

Dedicated to my mom, Elsie.

The verse on this sweet band sampler reads: Honor thy Mother, for her arms, secur'd thee from a thousand harms. Stitched on 30 count Abcedarian linen this little sampler has a stitch count of 85W x 121H and a finished size of 6" x 8". I've included a complete upper case alphabet so it can be personalized and would make a wonderful Mother's Day gift.

This one's for you, mom. I love you and miss you everyday.

Nettie's Best Work

Nettie's Best Work

I had the best time designing and stitching this delightful little sampler that stitches up quick using only 2 colors. Stitched on 30 count ivory linen, with a stitch count of 100W x 115H, it's finished size is 6 1/2" x 7 1/2" and fits nicely in an 8 x 10 frame.

Patty Polk's Sampler

Patty Polk's Sampler

As you can tell by the verse, this simple marking sampler was NOT a highlight in Patty's young life. The verse reads: Patty Polk did this and she hated every stitch..... she likes to read much more. Stitched on 28 count ivory linen with a stitch count of 90W x 146H, it finishes to 6 1/2" x 10 1/2".

In my last update back in December, I had introduced The Robin R. Bailey Sampler, in memory of my sister Robin's strong compassion for animals. I am donating 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this pattern to the Summit County Humane Society in Robin's name, for 1 year. Thanks to everyone who has purchased Robin's sampler so far, I was able to write a check to the Humane Society for $500.00, last month! By purchasing her sampler, you have all made the lives of so many animals a little easier and you have my heartfelt thanks.

I'm working on revamping my Finished Goods page with all sorts of new goodies and I've started working on new Halloween designs for a booklet that I hope to have finished by August 1st. I'll keep you posted as things progress, so check my blog in the next few weeks for some sneak peeks!

That's about all I have for now, so take care!
